High Flying.

June 25, 2010

Whilst in Pembrokeshire, an unexpected treat for me happened in the form of a flight in a light aircraft.

A friend had chosen to take a flying lesson, as his 10-year company service reward. It was a rather windy day and so the pilot said he was happy not to take the two seater and instead would plump for the four seater as long as myself and another friend came along (basically as excess baggage !!).

It was a little off-putting going hell for leather up the runway in something slightly larger than an old tin bath!  But once up, above the more turbulent air streams, the views and beautiful sunny landscapes below made me forget the plane altogether, of course it wasn’t long before the pattern spotting started too !

Can a designer ever switch their brains off ?

We’re going up in this ? what all four of us.. are you sure ?

Now I realise where the phrase ‘ back down to earth with a bang’ was born !
