Fishink New Ideas.

January 24, 2011

I’m constantly exploring new ways of drawing and working with the images I create.

Here’s one called Fat Chicken, and a second called Fat Fox. Can you see a theme developing ?..

All feedback greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi – Just curious – What relationship does the floral/leaves and the fat have? Not sure if I like the u-shaped eyes. Otherwise I think it’s just great.

There’s no direct link between the flora and the fat, just thought it maybe nice to mix animals and plants up a bit. lol The U shaped eys come from my love of 50’s and 60’s cartoons and illustrations. I like the way it makes animals a little self important. Thanks for the feedback.

I think HE is a v fine chicken. His u shaped eyes make him look v haughty …… looking down his beak as he struts his stuff. He’s got lovely textured tail feathers…..in fact I like these loose lines better than the v graphic texture on his comb …But I don’t know weather a comb is feathers or fleshy stuff after all. I love the shades of green: even though it not relate to healthy chickens….lol. His chest feathers are a very simplified version of those B W chickens feathers I presume. My only negative comment; if his legs were placed a little bit further back mayb he a little more balanced ?

Thanks for the feedback. Yes I wondered about the legs too, but I somehow liked the fact that his high and mighty look maybe slightly undermined by the fact that he looks like he may keel over at any given moment lol
