Mid week mix
Welcome to a new feature that I’ve decided to regularly add on a Wednesday. I’ve called it….. the ‘mid week mix’.
Since about 2008, I’ve been collecting images from the internet that have caught my eye. Way back then, I wasn’t so diligent in keeping records as to where images came from, or who had painted, photographed, illustrated or indeed created the artwork in the image. So I apologise in advance for their lack of referencing, but to be honest, it was purely about seeing groups of imagery together, that for whatever reason, I enjoyed.
As I have managed to amass quite a few of these ‘collaged sheets’, I thought I would share them with you, in the hope that they may also provide some inspiration to you the readers, from their shape, colour, texture or out and out randomness : )
So many beautiful images but for me the sad zebra stands out! Great idea for a regular post, I look forward to the next one!
Thanks Lizzie, I hope that my post of unrelated images may inspire people to look more closely (as you did) and pick something that ‘shouts out’ to them. Glad you cheered the sad zebra up with a mention : )
He reminded me of Eeyore, poor thing! And I loved these images cos I too collect pics and images but I’m nothing like as organised as you! Happy Mid Week Mixing!! :o)
I like the seagulls (strong blue colour), the tortoise print and the hedgehog best, and the staring red/burgundy bird 🙂
Thanks Mel, great to see how different folk are attracted to different things, for different reasons. Thanks for your selection.
I love your collages – such a great source of inspiration and I can see lots of links going through your collections! Particularly love the wings and seed heads!
Sarah, thanks for the feedback. Wings and seed heads eh, that’s because you’re a true country gal at heart : ) Hope they gave you a visual buzzz today too
I didn’t seem to receive any images? But, I wanted to also tell you how much I enjoy your blog. It is obvious (and overwhelming!) to think of the amount of time you must put into this labor of love- and I, for one, appreciate your efforts and your eye! You have a great fan in Alabama, U.S.A.! Thank you and Cheers, Betsy Marks
Postscript: It may be impertinent of me, but I have a Flickr account under ‘Jelloqween’ through which I have loaded some fun images of toys, ads, packaging, etc. that you are welcome to utilize. I have gigabytes and gigabytes of images like those- and more- that I too have collected from all over the place- scans, photos, Internet, et.al.- that may be of ‘sketchy’ ownership…!

Thank you Betsy, there was a ‘rogue’ post that went out last week by mistake and then it was cancelled (by me). Perhaps that’s why it didn’t have any images in it. Today’s post should have had tho ? I really appreciate your support, the blog does take a huge amount of time and so it’s wonderful that people like yourself show their appreciation too : ) Thank you and I’ll have a look at your Flickr page too.
I found the swallow book jacket joyous and really loved the (lino cut?) turtle mage for it’s clever layering. The very busy wall-paper type prints were not good for me, one in particular made my stomach swim a bit! They are still a lovely set of images, you have a skill (and vast patience and love, for making these collections.
Again Boabee, I soo appreciate your comments and lovely message. It helps me on my journey too : )
