Mid Week Mix
Since about 2008, I’ve been collecting images from the internet that have caught my eye. Way back then, I wasn’t so diligent in keeping records as to where images came from, or who had painted, photographed, illustrated or indeed created the artwork in the image. So I apologise in advance for their lack of referencing, but to be honest, it was purely about seeing groups of imagery together, that for whatever reason, I enjoyed.
As I have managed to amass quite a few of these ‘collaged sheets’, I thought I would share them with you, in the hope that they may also provide some inspiration to you the readers, from their shape, colour, texture or out and out randomness : )
We start with a few from Mark Hearld, to whet your appetite.
Do let me know your thoughts and which images catch your eye for whatever reason.
The orange bear with a soulful expression catches my eye, I like the way the pattern of his fur echoes the intricate black and which designs.
Great comment Kate, he does seem to have been born out of those other designs doesn’t he : ) Well spotted
I love the two little woofers in the second block – very cute! In fact there are few images I don’t like but those two fellas caught my eye first!! Great post!
Thanks Lizzie. It’s also ok to not like some of the images too, in fact just as refreshing. I did select them quite randomly a fair few years ago, so I don’t expect that everyone will have the same taste as me. In fact there’s probably some i don’t like as much now too : )
And each time I look I see different things and spot new images that I’d missed! Isn’t it fab!
There’s no mistaking Mark Hearld’s work. 🙂 It was his designs which got me into collage – such fun. I think it was also via your blog that I saw where Mark possibly got inspiration from, you have such a treasure trove I should make notes but always think I’ll remember – fat chance!
Thanks Bella, I was delighted to discover that Mark Hearld also likes my blog, in fact he selected it as one of his top ten favourite sites (whoop), so you’re in good company : ) http://www.thegoodwebguide.co.uk/lifestyle/shopping/guest-edits/mark-hearld/14922
