Neither Fish nor Fowl. Tea Towels from the Mid Century
Cindy Funk is my Midwestern friend from the U.S.A who collects and sells vintage textiles. She runs the fabulous Etsy shop NeatoKeen and was not only the first person to create a guest post on Fishink Blog, (about designer Lois Long), but has been busy again, assembling some fantastic Mid-century designs to illustrate this post. Especially for you lucky people ! : )
Let’s begin with the fish, or rather who’s eating the fish ?
Fish swimming, fish dodging fishermen and ultimately… fish dinners !
What a cracking sea life design above and I also love this Irish Linen ‘Fish and Chips’ design below. It tells a whole story.
Moving onto the Fowl, or rather Owls or to be precise a Swedish Owl, with a tie on !
Pink and orange seem to be popular for vintage owl colourations : )
Which came first the chicken or the egg ? Owls and Toucans and birds with cages.
Lovely colours and patterns in this one below, featuring sneaky foxes and birds in the cornfields.
Something for everyone here. Thanks again to Cindy for helping to create this post, let’s hope there’s more in the future ! Do pop over to the NeatoKeen shop and grab yourself something wonderful.
