Clay Opera and Atelia Stella Ceramics to make you smile

I recently happened upon two ceramists Clay Opera and Atelier Stella, both of whom create items that make people smile… myself included. Straight away I’d say that is quite a unique selling point, don’t you think ?

First of all the work of Clay Opera and the maker Marta, who works from her studio in Poland and sells her work on Etsy.

I like the fact that there is a touch of storytelling in her work. Dream-like scenarios where girls fly with birds, in a Chagall manner and an ever so small fascination with Peter and the Wolf, or actually let’s forget Peter, it’s just the Wolf !

How about this cheeky crocodile with a red hat.

Those (not too scary) Wolves I mentioned earlier.

A few more animals, see if you can spot what they are.

There’s even Rudolph and a Unicorn in here too. I love their spindly little legs and slightly aloof expressions.

Secondly the work of children’s illustrator turned ceramist Stella Baggott, who’s company Atelier Stella on Etsy and Big Cartel just keeps selling out ! What a nice problem to have : ) Stella is based in London.

There is a 50’s and 60’s influence in the faces and patterning here.

I love how you can change their foliage ‘hair’ and make them look very different.

They work equally as well as either functional objects or decorative ones.

I can’t think of anything better, than having an object around the house, that makes me smile everytime I look at it !

Such lovely glazes and colours too.

Thanks to both companies for letting me show you their work today. Glad to see you’re both doing well. Have a fun weekend everyone and don’t forget to comment and share my blog.

Yes anything that makes you smile when you look at them, must be a good find. If my house was full of these, imagine how much smiling would be happening : )
